FES Rwanda offers internships to young professionals / students from Rwanda and Germany. Internships generally cover a period of three months. We encourage those who are interested to submit the applications 2/3 months prior to the beginning of the internship.

Criterias

• Professional working proficiency in English, French or German
• Applicants with the following academic backgrounds are especially suited for an internship: Social Science, Economics, African studies, International Relations, Sociology, or related fields.
• Familiarity with the FES values
• Curriculum Vitae
• Letter of Application
• Envisaged internship period.
• University certificates and certificates of internships or other kinds of work experiences

German interns

The FES Rwanda is not in the position to offer any monetary compensation for travel expenses (e.g., flight ticket, visa fees). The responsibility to apply for a Rwandan visa lies with the German intern. All expenses, including travel, board and lodging, remain the responsibility of the applicant. FES does not accept responsibility for any claims resulting from accidents, damages and/ or losses incurred to interns for the duration of their internship.

Tasks and Opportunities

Internships consist of assisting in office work; however, we make a strong effort to personalize the content of the internship and to closely match the interests of our interns with an involvement in current FES project lines. Tasks include but are not limited to: logistics surrounding conferences and workshops, writing of conference or workshop reports, research, documentation, office administration and support of experts and delegations. Interns may also have the opportunity to do research on their individual research and / or master's thesis during their internship as long as the research topic is deemed useful for the work and in the line of FES in Rwanda.

The promotion of young professionals has been one of the founding principles of the FES. Therefore, FES offers scholarships to international students who are already subscribed at universities in Germany.
