Special guest at FES Rwanda office
During her first trip on the African continent in this position, Hon.Minister Svenja Schulze paid a courtesy visit to the president of the republic of Rwanda His Excellency Paul Kagame and discussed further bilateral partnership between both countries and the establishment of a vaccine manufacturing site in Rwanda.
It was also the occasion of the signing of the funding agreements to support Rwanda’s green growth and climate resilience for sustainable development witnessed by counterpart’s the minister of finance and economic planning of Rwanda.
Her visit to FES had the aim to discuss the role of FES and its partners in the socio-economic development of Rwanda. In the evening Honorable Minister Ms. Schulze together with her delegation and the German officials led by HE Ambassador Dr. Thomas Kurz were welcomed by the FES team.
Afterwards, there was the opportunity to meet and exchange with partners from various institutions such as think tanks, trade unions and CSO's. Topics were among others feminist development politics, the role of trade unions in the informal sector and the importance of evidence-based research, after a professional and profitable exchange with the invitees, the evening was closed by a formal dinner and fruitful discussions among Rwandan and German fellows.
