A Day to Remember

SENJOUSMEL a Rwandan trade union that brings together private workers from various sectors especially security companies since 1999 with the vision of empowering workers socio-economically and professionally, on 9^th May 2023 together with GARDAWORLD which is one of the largest security companies in Rwanda signed a collective bargaining agreement. These collective bargaining agreements are intended to meet certain labour requirements and to promote both the productivity and social welfare of GardaWorld workers and the results of extensive negotiation between the company and the trade union to create better working conditions, social dialogue within the security sector.

The signing of the agreements took place at FES Rwanda office and was preceded by a workshop that brought together trade union representatives, security company representatives, private sector federation (PSF) and the ministry of labor (MIFOTRA) representative. Among the topics the participants discussed achievements, challenges and lessons learned as well as the role of women in the implementation of the CBA as well as SENJOUSMEL’s new strategic plan.
